The Tamil Nadu government has announced a series of initiatives catering to different aspects of public life.

For the economy, potential changes to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) are on the
table. The government is considering a reduction on essential items like food,
medicine, and bicycles while looking to increase GST on non-essential goods like
clothing, cosmetics, and cold beverages.
